The exhibition contains mostly books
about Sherlock Holmes - including
pamphlets, booklets, comics,
gramophone records, articles, pictures
and so on.
In all modesty the collection is probably
among the biggest in Europe.
Apart from the written testimonies about
the Master Detective we also have
several artifacts - figures, dolls, mugs,
stamps, lapel pins and other things
pertaining to Sherlock Holmes. For
instance a brick from 221 B Baker Street,
Holmes’ violin, his persian slipper in which
he kept his tobacco, Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle’s suitcase and a small vial of sand
from the Reichenbach Falls where
Holmes fought against his arch enemy
Professor Moriarty, the Napoleon of
Crime.
The books cannot bo borrowed but must
be seen/read at the premises. We have a
comfortable easy chair, smoking is
allowed, and usually we can also make a
cup of coffee.
Furthermore we have a Xerox, so shorter
articles can be copied. The price is 1 kr.
